STEM Birthday Parties

Not a package. Not a cookie-cutter activity. A STEM experience designed around your child.

At Dr. Doodle's Curiosity Works, we build birthday parties around what makes the birthday child curious. Dinosaurs? Robots? Fairies? Space? Animals? Art? Cars? Weird creatures? Video games? Things that explode, move, light up, or fly? We take their interests and transform them into a one-of-a-kind, hands-on STEM experience created specifically for their celebration.

Before the party, we work with families to learn about the birthday child's age, interests, favorite things, personality, and the kind of experience they would enjoy. From there, Dr. Doodle develops an original STEM challenge or maker experience that connects those interests with engineering, science, technology, creativity, and playful problem-solving.

What Could a Party Look Like?

Every party is different. Picture an enchanted fairy celebration: each child designs a unique fairy and builds a whimsical fairy house, complete with miniature gardens and woodland details. Another day, it might be a knight’s quest where kids invent their own brave knights and work together to construct a cardboard castle. Parties can feature vehicle races, habitats for imaginary creatures, homemade arcade games, contraptions that launch or move, circuit and light experiments, new species inventions, or a challenge inspired by what your child loves most.

The emphasis is not on everyone creating the same craft. Instead, attendees are given a challenge, materials, tools, and permission to experiment. They imagine, build, test, redesign, and tinker their way toward their own solutions.

Designed for Making, Not Just Watching

Dr. Doodle's parties are active, creative experiences where kids become the engineers, scientists, inventors, and makers. Depending on the theme and age group, activities may incorporate cardboard engineering, creative reuse, simple machines, circuitry, physical computing, construction, robotics, art, sewing, sculpture, coding, or experimental design.

Whenever possible, parties use inexpensive, reclaimed materials. Cardboard, bottle caps, tubes, fabric, recycled containers, craft materials, and unexpected odds and ends become the raw materials for invention. This creative-reuse approach encourages children to see possibilities in everyday objects while making engineering accessible, imaginative, and sustainable.

Productive Failure Is Part of the Party

Things may wobble. Wheels may fall off. Towers may tumble. A first design might not work at all.

That is part of the fun.

Dr. Doodle's Curiosity Works is built around design-based learning and the idea that failure is information. Children are encouraged to test their ideas, figure out what happened, make changes, and try again. There is no single "right" solution and no expectation that every creation will look the same.

The goal is for kids to leave thinking, "I made that. I figured that out. What could I try next?"

Personalized for Your Celebration

We can adapt parties for different ages, group sizes, interests, locations, and STEM experience levels. Experiences can range from whimsical and artistic to highly technical, messy, mechanical, competitive, collaborative, or wonderfully weird.

Have an unusual party idea? Even better. Tell us what your child loves, and we will explore how to turn it into an unforgettable STEM adventure.
